Dr John Kapeleris mentioned during the PodCast that under certain circumstances the AIC would recommend people go to Triton Foundation.

Under what circumstances or reasoning might that be where The Triton Foundation is recommended as being more appropriate than the AIC?

These guys are mostly Lambs to the Slaughter. Hats off to anyone willing to say NO.

There is bound to be possible follow-up by dozens of potential angel investors that would have watched the show AND on better terms....

We designed or implemented web strategies for three of the companies the dragons want to invest in, and can shed some light on how things work. None of these companies are obligated to go ahead with the deals that are offered to them. I know that 'anywhere tent' didn't sign up which leaves 7 businesses still negotiating a contract with the dragons.

The dragons have employed a business manager who will work with each of these companies and liase with the dragons. There are two things we have observed: During the show, when Jake from Surfume asked them how much help they were willing to help, you could see the dragons squirm. BUT... Glen, the business manager, has been able to bridge that gap. We're seeing that what the dragons know isn't as important as who they know.

From the owners of retail chains to CEOs of major companies, Glen has been able to use these dragon contacts to set up potential deals with the Dragons' Den companies... so definitely the networking advantage is worth something... but is it worth 50% of the company??? at least that, can still be negotiated.

On a separate note. What is this myth that says any idea we have will be our last and only idea. People are ringing Jake telling him he got a bad deal... like this will be the best and last idea he will ever have. This experience is just a stepping stone to the next idea. His product may take-off or be a fad that fades away... either way, the lessons he will learn and his contacts will make his next idea bigger and better. Or scare him back into completing his degree:-)

Lusty Threads did get a spike in sales after the show but, in the words of Shakespeare: "a spike does not a business make"... sounds like something Yoda would say. Interestingly, they ended up doing a deal with one of the dragons which is separate to the show.

I also watch the dragons den each week, I have to agree with you on the point of spreading themselves really thin when it comes to making a contribution as a mentor to these entrepreneurs

But, for me it's a great insight to how things are done in the den and what I'm going to be in for when it comes my turn to make a request (not on channel 7 though)

Hello Dharmendra
Thank you for the feedback on the interview with Bob. I am glad you enjoyed it. You are right in that currently we do not have a presence in India. Not for a lack of desire but more from a lack of physical contacts. Raising Capital and Finance in todays networked world requires one to build a network because that is one of your core marketing assets. Good luck with your start-up and funding. Keep us posted on line about your process and adventure. It will help others I am sure.
Regards
Andrew

I appreciated listening the basics of business startup talk with Bob Watson. Listening from New Delhi and in the early stage of writing business plan, this was especially helpful. Bob mentioned about his operations across Europe, US and Australia, but i missed India which is growing very fast and investment return is very good. Best wishes.
